CD Duplication and CD Replication - What's the Difference?

Everyone today seems to know what burning a disc is. In fact, many people burn all type of discs everyday. Sometimes it is necessary to take the contents of one particular cd and produce the same contents many times by across many discs. This process is called CD duplication, and it consists of basically making mass copies of one disc. However, it is interesting to note that CD duplication doesn't only involve copying contents from one CD to many other CD's. It can simply consist of taking a blank disc, putting a design on it and then duplicating this design across many discs. This is also considered another form or type of CD duplication. However, CD Duplication mostly refers of copying or recording the contents of the CD and placing that content on many other CD's.

Duplication can easily be mixed up or confused with replication. It is important to note the difference between duplication and replication. So, what is the difference? The difference is that Duplication is simply like putting a disc in your computer and recording it on a massive basis. Replication is done in a factory type environment and it often surpasses the amount of Duplication of CD's. However, the quality of Duplication is still excellent. Even though, it wasn't produced in a "factory" environment it still has the quality of such property. When CD Duplication takes place, the discs produced from this process are tested for quality.

All of this might sound very simple and possibly not that important but it is. Duplication is often done by professional companies. This is because of the volume that is needed of a specific CD that contains content that needs to be duplicated. Just think for a moment if there was nothing like CD Duplication, how can massive amounts of a data be copied in a relative short time span? The answer is obvious. Duplication is just a small example of how technology has evolved, and how it is possible to achieve the copying of massive amounts of data in a short time period. It is truly a great process that can go unnoticed even though it is so noticeable.
